| Ok, first of all I'm basing most of this off of this official timeline made by Nintendo. Secondly, this will contain spoilers about the ending of skyward sword, and around/up to obtaining the master sword in Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, and A Link to the Past. most of this will be about the master sword itself, but before I get to that I'm going to mention the final boss of skyward sword Basically, in the present, you bring the statue of the goddess down to the surface to crush and destroy Ghirahim's master, The Imprisoned (Demise). After you do this Ghirahim appears and takes Zelda to the past to resurrect Demise there. In the past you fight Demise and destory him before returning to the present. Now the main point of this is that if you destroy Demise in the past how is he there in the present? I assume that most people would just write this off as causing a timeline split, which is what I thought until I realized that after you destory Demise in the past, Zelda give Impa (who has decided to stay in the past) one of her bracelets to remember them by, and when you return to the present it is revealed that granny was Impa the entire time. Impa/granny has the bracelet through the entire game, meaning that there is no timeline split and the the imprisoned is still there even though Demise had been destroyed in the past. As for the master sword, at the end of Skyward Sword it is placed in the sealed grounds, presumably also the sacred grove, the location the master sword is obtained in Twilight Princess, as they are both located in the Faron woods. This makes sense on its own, as the gate to the temple of time dungeon in Twilight Princess could simply be the gate of time, however, Ocarina of Time comes before Twilight Princess on the timeline and in Ocarina of Time the master sword is in the Temple of Time, in Castle Town. It could be that the temple of time in Ocarina of Time is the same temple of time in Skyward Sword, in the lanayru dessert/province, but that doesnt explain how the master sword got from the sealed grounds, to the temple of time, and back. The master sword in A Link to the Past is the lost woods, which again, makes since to skyward sword since by very roundabout logic (the lost woods are right next to the Sacred Grove in Twilight Princess) it's the Faron woods again, but not to Ocarina of Time. The only game that actually makes since to Ocarina of Time is Wind Waker, which keeps the master sword in the temple of time, next to Hyrule castle, but that still doesn't explain how it got there in the first place. so I've come to the conclusion that either there are two master swords, or Nintindo has a lot of explaining to do. | |

| just found another thing, at the end of skyward sword link put the master sword in a pedestal in the past, at the same time that Zelda gives Impa the bracelet, however the master sword is not there the entire game while Impa does have the bracelet, but the master sword is there in the ending cutscene, so it makes EVEN LESS sense | |
