| Hi again, I'm finally back for my second review. This time were going to be looking at a current game, Kirby's Epic Yarn. This game isn't just your typical Kirby game. This time it follows Kirby as he gets turned to yarn by an evil sorcerer. He is transported to a world of fabric back drops and yarn characters. In this world he is met by a new character named Prince Fluff, who encourages Kirby to help him save this world of yarn. It's a simple game, but it loses nothing in its simplicity. The transformations for the most part are near perfect. The UFO, The dune buggy, the firetruck, the list goes on. There were a couple of transformations that could do with some work, and even those were mostly just on specific levels. The world is easy to navigate and uses the same format as many Kirby games in the past. You walk around on the simplistic over-world and enter the levels through individual doors. There are bosses at the end of every world and for the most part their really good. They vary in difficulty, most leaning toward the easy side, but still lots of fun. Now for controls! In this game, the controls are very simplistic. It seems like this is the key word for Kirby's Epic Yarn, "simplistic." There's the simple walking and running. If you double tap the d-pad you can turn Kirby into a car to move faster. The "string" is used by pressing the 1 button and works well for the most part. It is used to unzip back drops, unravel enemies, and to pull of patches to find secrets. Under most circumstances the string does a bit of homing to find its most likely target but you'll most likely get frustrated with it every now and again. Unfortunately there aren't many more controls to go over. Any of the other controls are part of the transformations *which take the form of patches you must collect in certain levels* and most of those are just moving around the wii mote or pressing 2. Graphics time! The graphics are again, simplistic. That isn't to say they're bad. Everything is very smooth and relatively impressive. I appreciate the gimmicky sort of yarn graphics. I thought it was clever and dare I say, cute. Overall, this is one of my favorite Kirby games to date. I suppose when I consider it as a whole, I can't give it a perfect score. It is very tedious to 100 percent (given the minigames one must do over and over.) and it has some room for improvement when it comes to graphics and diversity. Thinking about it, I would have to go with giving this game a 9/10. The gimmicky graphics take away from the game for some, even though I love them. Not to mention the simplicity that I'm so fond of (really used that word a lot) makes others find the game boring. Either way though, this game was fantastic and should be highly enjoyable to all. | |

| My biggest problem with that game was that there was no dying. I'm just saying that, without that kinda of mechanic, it totally nerfs the difficulty of the game. I understand it was made for kids, but still, c'mon. | |

| Actually, believe it or not, there is dying. You just have to be really terrible and it lacks consequence. Just let it be known I grade mostly for entertainment value. Plus that and more are reasons that it didn't get a perfect score. | |

| Which in this game factored in pretty heavily for me. Graphics don't usually count for much in my scoring, but with this game they changed a long standing graphical style so I had to count it for more than usual. | |

| Yeah, I think it's really bold what Nintendo is doing. And thats why Skyward Sword, I think, is going to be the biggest Zelda to date. They're doing a post-impressionist style, which makes it semi-realistic while keeping a minor cartoony element. I think the style of the game fits Kirby perfectly. | |

| I agree. I was really impressed that I actually enjoyed such a drastic transition in graphics. This will be a banner year for Nintendo I think. | |

Links Awakening not the Oracle Games. And it's not remakes or anything, you know that right? The 3DS has a thing that's like the Wii's virtual console, and THAT is how they are releasing Links Awakening. | |
